“Once again, we have gathered to honour exceptional residents of our region. People who have dreams and know how to make them come true. People whose daily work builds not only their own future, but also the strength and prosperity of our region,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “Twenty-seven years have passed since the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region was established. Over these years, we have built something that was by no means a given at the time: a community that now includes successive generations. I hope that young people will take up the baton from us and continue to build this wonderful achievement that is our region.”

“I do not know all of you personally, but I could describe the kind of people you are. The fact that you are here at the Marshal’s Awards Gala means that you are creative, intelligent, courageous and enterprising. Above all, however, you share what matters most: action and initiative. You do not stand still. You make the world a better place and transform our region, and I bow to you with the utmost respect for your work,” said Elżbieta Piniewska, President of the Regional Parliament, in her address. “In his work The Citadel, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote that ‘a human being is someone who carries within them much more than just themselves’. Thank you for being greater than yourselves.”
