New bus stations in Rypin and Mogilno
In just one year, passengers will be using newly built bus stations in Mogilno and Rypin. The total cost of the investments, being carried out by the Marshal’s Office-owned company Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy (KPTS), is PLN 12 million. Passengers will have new waiting rooms, ticket offices and platforms at their disposal.
– We are systematically expanding the network of rail and bus connections and improving the standard of public transport services in the region. One of the results of this policy is the construction of new bus stations in Mogilno and Rypin, which will significantly improve the quality of travel – emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
A pleasure to wait!
The new bus stations in Rypin and Mogilno, which will be built on the sites of the existing facilities, are the first investments of this kind to be carried out by the Marshal’s Office-owned transport company!
Work in both towns began in March. During the first stage, a sewer system was constructed and part of the site was paved. Tender procedures for the second stage of the project are currently under way.
Once the investments are completed, passengers will have new waiting rooms and ticket offices at their disposal, while staff will have new welfare facilities. New covered platforms and bicycle parking spaces, a manoeuvring area, electric vehicle charging stations and passenger information systems will also be created.
The Rypin bus station in figures:
- 1,843 cubic metres – building volume
- 346 square metres – building footprint
- 164 square metres – usable floor area
- 20 car parking spaces
- 14 bus parking spaces
- 3 covered departure bays.
The Mogilno bus station in figures:
- 859 cubic metres – building volume
- 185 square metres – building footprint
- 162 square metres – usable floor area
- 15 bus parking spaces
- 8 car parking spaces
- 2 covered departure bays.
The total value of the project is PLN 24 million, including PLN 17 million in funding secured by Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy under the regional European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze programme (EFKP).
The new bus stations in Rypin and Mogilno will be located in close proximity to the modernised railway stations. Passengers will benefit from transport interchange hubs that will make connections easier and more convenient.
We are also investing in bus infrastructure in Włocławek.
For the past two years, we have been modernising the bus depot on Rolna Street in Włocławek. Facilities already put into service include a building housing a vehicle inspection station, repair bays and staff welfare facilities, a gatehouse, as well as part of the manoeuvring and parking area. In the future, a utility building will be constructed and the first floor of the depot’s main building will be completed.
A bus wash facility is also under construction on the same street. It will be equipped with a modern gantry washing system and a dedicated vehicle-cleaning room.

Ecology, modernity and comfort
The regional government is consistently investing in modern infrastructure and bus fleets. For the purchase of forty low-emission vehicles, we received the largest amount of support in Poland from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) – PLN 91 million!
We purchased 15 hybrid and 25 electric modern, comfortable buses for PLN 125 million.
The new buses are significantly rejuvenating the fleet of our regional transport operator KPTS and improving travel standards on regional routes. Each vehicle offers 50 seats and modern equipment, including:
- ergonomic seats with headrests, armrests and seat belts
- air conditioning and a modern sound system
- an electronic passenger information system
- Wi-Fi access
- facilities for people with disabilities.
Our vehicles received an award in the Polish Bus of the Year competition organised by the industry portal TransInfo.
The Iveco buses used by KPTS are modern vehicles equipped with efficient electric drivetrains and batteries enabling them to travel up to 400 kilometres on a single charge.
To support their operation, KPTS has installed 24 charging stations in Rypin, Brodnica, Lipno, Mogilno, Włocławek and Inowrocław. The investment cost PLN 6.7 million.
Local government cooperation in transport
Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy operates passenger bus services in the region on 69 routes. This number may increase as more local governments join the company.
At the invitation of the regional government, KPTS’s principal shareholder, 25 municipalities and 8 counties have joined the company.
Co-ownership status will allow local governments to entrust the operator with bus services under the in-house model, without an open tender procedure.
The regional government’s offer is also open to the remaining local authorities in the region.
The regional government is also responsible for organising passenger rail services in the region. Expenditure on rail transport will reach a record PLN 267 million in 2026. This amount includes PLN 37 million in railway infrastructure access charges and station fees.
