On Sunday (23 August), Lubostroń became the setting for a unique encounter with the tradition of historic carriage driving. The palace park hosted the 30th Horse-Drawn Carriage Competition – an event which for years has attracted enthusiasts of horses and historic carriages.
The programme began with the opening of the exhibition “The Artist’s House and Friends – The Horse in the Artistic Imagination”. This was followed by a parade and presentation of horse-drawn carriages and a competition in which the elegance of historic vehicles was assessed. The spectacular “Carriage Driving” competition then took place, featuring a timed obstacle course.
– Historic carriages, elegant costumes, music and the beauty of Lubostroń’s park create a unique atmosphere for this event. It is an encounter with history and tradition which for years has attracted not only enthusiasts of historic carriage driving, but entire families as well – says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The event was accompanied by performances by the “Kujawia” Youth Brass Band and the Bysław Majorettes. The organisers also prepared a relaxation zone, attractions for children, food stands, as well as a fair and a variety market.
The competition was held in the unique surroundings of the palace and park complex in Lubostroń. It offered an opportunity to experience the traditions of a bygone era – the art of historic carriage driving and the presentation of vintage horse-drawn vehicles.
