Last Chance to Observe the Perseids!
Already this Saturday (August 22), Inowrocław will become the astronomical capital of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. This is where the next event in the “Observing the Perseids at Astrobases” series will take place. We invite residents of the region, tourists, and all lovers of the night sky to join us in discovering the mysteries of the cosmos. Then, on Monday (August 24), free shows and observations of the summer sky will be held in Brodnica.
“I am delighted that so many young people are among those fascinated by the night sky. Under the guidance of passionate teachers, they observe distant star systems, continuing the astronomical traditions of our region. I warmly invite everyone to take part in these events,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Each Astrobase has prepared its own programme, giving participants across the region the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of attractions. These include observations of the night sky through telescopes, astronomy shows, meetings with astronomy enthusiasts and Astrobase coordinators, educational workshops for children and adults, and popular science lectures.
For years, the regional self-government has consistently supported the development of the Astrobases Kopernik network, funding both the modernization and equipment of the facilities as well as educational activities. With the support of the regional self-government, the facilities are being equipped with modern observation technology, teacher training sessions are being organized, along with astronomy picnics and science outreach activities. The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Academy of Innovation also currently funds the work of Astrobase coordinators, who conduct classes for primary and secondary school students as well as for anyone interested.
