Small Projects, Big Results – Rural Areas Are Becoming More Beautiful!
Funds from the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP Strategic Plan) 2023–2027, managed by the regional government and distributed through Local Action Groups (LAGs), are helping entrepreneurs pursue their business plans and local governments invest in infrastructure that benefits residents. The total value of the newly awarded funding amounts to PLN 3.5 million. Marshal Piotr Całbecki and President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska met with representatives of the beneficiaries today (23 October). Download photos
– I am pleased that we can support entrepreneurs who are developing their businesses and creating jobs. Equally important are investments by local governments in small-scale rural infrastructure, which can make an enormous difference to smaller communities and serve their residents. I congratulate all the beneficiaries on receiving funding and wish them every success in implementing their projects – said Marshal Piotr Całbecki, addressing those gathered.
– The diversity of initiatives being undertaken creates opportunities for the comprehensive development of local communities. It is worth emphasising that Local Action Groups, which have the best understanding of local needs, also play a part in deciding how these grants are awarded – stated Elżbieta Piniewska, President of the Regional Parliament.
The newly allocated funding has been awarded to local government authorities, individuals starting businesses, entrepreneurs expanding their operations and non-governmental organisations. The grants will support investments in public spaces, recreational facilities and the establishment of new businesses in rural areas.
We have allocated over PLN 2 million to municipalities. Thanks to this funding, new sports pitches will be built and existing ones modernised in Książki (Wąbrzeźno County) and Kruszyn (Bydgoszcz County). The funds will also support the construction of a stage with audience seating in Chełmica Duża (Włocławek County) and a village community centre in Anielin (Włocławek County).
The project undertaken by the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Kłóbka (Włocławek County) will also play an important role in developing local tourism and recreational opportunities. The organisation has received PLN 500,000 to build publicly accessible tourism and recreation facilities.
European funds are also supporting individuals who want to start their own businesses. Nearly PLN 350,000 has been allocated in this category. The funding will help establish three new businesses offering recreational equipment rental and event organisation, accommodation services, and various work-related services.
Grants are also being awarded to entrepreneurs seeking to expand their operations, invest in equipment and introduce new services. More than PLN 400,000 has been allocated for this purpose.
The projects receiving funding include the purchase of a modern industrial steel-processing machine, the provision of transport services in rural areas, and the purchase of equipment for construction and material-handling operations.
The initiatives supported under the CAP Strategic Plan demonstrate that rural development is not limited to investments in roads, sports pitches or community centres. It also involves creating favourable conditions for business activity, expanding tourism and recreational services, and engaging non-governmental organisations in projects that benefit local residents. Local Action Groups play a key role in allocating funding, promoting rural development and supporting the implementation of local initiatives.
