Goose for St. Martin’s Day: Geese Distributed on Saturday!
As part of our annual tradition, on Saturday, 24 October, we distributed goose carcasses to residents through competitions organised by regional and local media outlets. The geese are intended for festive family dinners on Poland’s National Independence Day, celebrated on 11 November. This year, a total of 2,026 geese were distributed.
– Our campaign is an invitation to celebrate together, enjoy ourselves and spend quality time with family and friends who, like us, wish to mark the anniversary of Poland regaining its independence with joy and pride. I encourage everyone to take part in our competitions – emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
We have already launched the first art competition for children, and another competition will be announced in early November, inviting participants to share accounts of their festive St. Martin’s Day dinners on 11 November, with goose as the centrepiece. The competition is open to families, rural women’s associations and volunteer fire brigades.
This year’s Goose Festival will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, 10–11 November, in Przysiek, near Toruń.
