Support for Addiction Prevention

Eighteen non-governmental organizations are carrying out projects this year commissioned by the regional self-government as part of efforts to address alcohol-related problems. Funding of PLN 360,000 will enable NGOs to organize therapeutic meetings, workshops and consultation services.

“Addressing alcohol-related problems, which affect people struggling with addiction as well as their families, is one of the most serious public health challenges. Thanks to the involvement of the third sector, we can help those who are particularly affected by this problem,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

NGOs from Bydgoszcz, Toruń and Grudziądz, as well as third-sector organizations from Warsaw operating in our region, have received grants to implement projects addressing alcohol-related problems. Many of the programmes are also aimed at co-dependent individuals, children and young people, as well as adults affected by the consequences of growing up in a family with alcohol addiction (Adult Children of Alcoholics, ACoA).
