Over PLN 40 Million for Roads in Inowrocław County
Today (3 September), Chairwoman of the Regional Assembly Elżbieta Piniewska reviewed the progress of road investment projects in Inowrocław County. In this part of the region, we have completed, among other projects, the reconstruction of regional road No. 412 linking Inowrocław with Kruszwica. The expansion of regional road No. 299 in Gniewkowo and the construction of the Trląg bypass along regional road No. 255 are currently under way. The total value of road investments in the county exceeds PLN 40 million.
The reconstruction of the 2.3-kilometre section of regional road No. 412 between Rożniaty and Kobylniki completes the modernisation of this important route linking Inowrocław with Kruszwica. The project, worth more than PLN 3.1 million, included laying new pavement layers, reinforcing road shoulders, upgrading junctions and access roads, restoring drainage ditches, replacing vertical road signs and installing new road markings. Last year, a 2.5-kilometre section between Przedbojewice and Rożniaty was also reconstructed. The two stages cost a total of PLN 6.3 million and were financed entirely from the regional budget.
In addition, we commissioned improved lighting at two pedestrian crossings and the construction of four bus bays in Janowice and Przedbojewice. These projects are part of the Marshal’s road safety improvement programme.
The regional government provided financial support to Kruszwica Municipality for the construction of a cycle path along the modernised road. The first stage will involve the construction of an almost 2-kilometre section between Przedbojewice and Janowice. The project is estimated to cost PLN 6.5 million, of which PLN 4.6 million will come from the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027.
Resurfacing work on regional road No. 252 between Pławinek and Radojewice is also nearing completion. The road surface is being replaced along a four-kilometre section. The scope of works also includes resurfacing bus bays and platforms, renovating a vehicle inspection bay and constructing access roads to properties and fields. The investment will cost PLN 5.4 million. Final acceptance is scheduled for October.
Major works in Gniewkowo and the Trląg bypass
Several other major road projects are being carried out in Inowrocław County this year. In July, reconstruction of regional road No. 299 in Gniewkowo began. The project involves upgrading the western section of Piasta Street and the junction with Inowrocławska Street, where the regional road connects with national road No. 15.
Along an approximately 750-metre section of Piasta Street, the carriageway will be widened to 7 metres and a pavement will be built on the northern side. The project also includes new access roads to properties, street lighting, a stormwater drainage system with a pumping station, and a utility duct. The entrance to Dreckiego Street will also be reconstructed.
Changes will also be introduced at the junction with national road No. 15. Inowrocławska Street will be widened, traffic islands will be built, and a left-turn lane will be added for vehicles approaching from the direction of Toruń. In addition, a service road will be constructed on the northern side to provide access to nearby properties. A new, illuminated pedestrian crossing is also planned. The project includes the reconstruction of drainage and lighting infrastructure.
In addition to rebuilding the road structure, the scope of works includes, among other things, the reconstruction of street lighting and drainage systems. The investment is intended to improve transport links between the railway station and the national road network. The design-and-build project is worth PLN 15.4 million. The contractor is Strabag. The project is being implemented with financial support from the Government Road Development Fund. The works will be completed next year.
In July, we signed a contract and handed over the construction site to the contractor responsible for building the Trląg bypass along regional road No. 255. Construction of the 3-kilometre bypass will cost PLN 20.5 million. Completion is scheduled for the end of next year.
Further projects
Preparations are under way for further investments. The most important of these include:
- construction of a roundabout in Rybitwy at the junction of regional road No. 251 with the county road towards Janikowo and Tuczno – a road investment permit (ZRID) has been obtained,
- construction of a roundabout in Dziennice at the junction of regional road No. 252 with county roads towards Góra and Balczewo – a road investment permit (ZRID) has been obtained,
- reconstruction of the 2-kilometre Latkowo–Więcławice section of regional road No. 400 – design work has been completed and we are awaiting a road investment permit (ZRID),
- reconstruction of further sections of regional road No. 255, including in Broniewice,
- reconstruction of sections of regional road No. 246, including Kaczkowo–Wielowieś and Ośniczewko–Stanomin,
- together with Pakość Municipality and Inowrocław County, we are beginning preparations aimed at constructing the Pakość bypass along regional road No. 251.
Record spending on roads
PLN 2 billion will be allocated to the regional road modernisation programme over the coming years. Under the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 (FEdKP 2021–2027), our regional programme for the new EU financial perspective, we are allocating EUR 136 million to road investments, including our regional bypass construction programme. For some road infrastructure expansion projects, we will also use funding secured from central government sources – approximately PLN 170 million for bypasses and around PLN 450 million for the expansion of other roads.
