The Kraków production Metr na metr, directed by Weronika Kowalska, and the Wrocław production Kup teraz, directed by Barbara Olech and Mikołaj Woubishet, received the main awards at the 10th National Review of Diploma Performances and Musical Examinations of Higher Artistic Schools, Przygrywka. Individual awards went to students of acting schools in Kraków and Warsaw — Milena Uznańska and Stefan Andruszko. During Saturday’s gala (30 May), the winners were congratulated by Marshal Piotr Całbecki and Deputy Chairwoman of the Regional Assembly Katarzyna Lubańska.

“Przygrywka brought together 220 participants from 11 artistic schools, who — despite their young age — demonstrated a high level of stagecraft and performance skills. I thank them for participating in the review, and I congratulate the award winners on their distinctions,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Fifteen productions qualified for the jubilee edition and were evaluated by a jury consisting of Janusz Grzywacz, Katarzyna Jamróz, Tomasz Lewandowski, Agnieszka Płoszajska, Jerzy Satanowski, and Anna Wołek.

Main Awards

• Best Actress – Milena Uznańska from the Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków for her role in Metr na metr
• Best Actor – Stefan Andruszko from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw for his role in Next to Normal
• Best Examination Performance – Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków for Metr na metr, directed by Weronika Kowalska
• Best Diploma Performance – Capitol Musical Theatre School in Wrocław for Kup teraz, directed by Barbara Olech and Mikołaj Woubishet

The jury also awarded individual and ensemble distinctions.

The gala concluded with a performance by the folk band Szajer, presenting a concert previewing the upcoming premiere of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Music Theatre in Toruń, Od Wisły po Zbrucz.
