StodólnaLAB Takes Shape on Designers’ Computers

A modern centre for education, culture and science – featuring a cinema auditorium, workshop rooms, a glazed courtyard and a café – will be developed in Włocławek at Stodólna Street. The project is being prepared by the Kujawsko-Pomorska Academy of Innovation (KPAI), while supervision of its implementation has been entrusted to Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Investments. The design documentation and building permit will be ready later this year. The tender to select the contractor will be announced in the middle of next year.

– Włocławek, a city with traditions, potential and legitimate ambitions, deserves a cultural and educational institution that will combine the popularisation of knowledge with exhibition and publishing activities – emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki. – One of the key elements of the future facility’s mission will be to present the lives and achievements of outstanding figures associated with the city and this part of Kujawy. We will also tell the story of the development of local industry here.

The century-old tenement building on Stodólna Street is set to undergo a major transformation. We already have a preliminary architectural concept.

Alongside the Energy Mill in Grudziądz, the Astronomical Education Centre in Toruń, InoLAB in Inowrocław, the Kronenberg Palace Art and Business Centre in Wieniec and the Kujawsko-Pomorskie School under Sail in Zarzeczewo, StodólnaLAB will become another facility operated by the Kujawsko-Pomorska Academy of Innovation where visitors can actively explore knowledge through interactive exhibitions, experiments, workshops, laboratory classes, film screenings and popular science events.

The estimated total value of the investment exceeds PLN 50 million. We expect the project to be financed under our regional programme, European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze.
