Steel Angels – Nominate Candidates
The regional government has announced the 20th edition of the prestigious Steel Angel competition. It is a unique opportunity to recognise individuals and teams whose commitment, compassion and innovative approach make a meaningful contribution to social welfare and support for the residents of our region.
“Empathy, attentiveness, professionalism and commitment – these are the qualities that social welfare services must embody, and that those who support people facing difficult moments in their lives should demonstrate. By presenting these annual awards, we promote the most interesting and innovative initiatives, as well as exemplary professional attitudes among employees working in this important area of support,” emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
Who can receive the award?
The awards are presented to individuals and teams who act as agents of change and bring a fresh perspective to the development of local communities. Award recipients will receive cash or non-cash prizes, commemorative Steel Angel statuettes and letters of congratulations.
Who can nominate candidates?
Nominations may be submitted by:
- central and local government authorities,
- social welfare institutions,
- non-governmental organisations, churches and religious associations operating in the field of social welfare,
- winners of previous editions of the competition.
How and when to submit an application
The deadline for submitting applications is 30 September 2026. Applications should be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “Steel Angel”:
in person: at the information and document submission desk at the main headquarters of the Marshal’s Office in Toruń,
