Kujawsko-Pomorskie Harvest Festival in Rypin 2026 (photos)
We are celebrating the Regional Harvest Festival. Today’s Kujawsko-Pomorskie Harvest Festival in Rypin, organised jointly by the regional government, the local authorities of the city and county, and the Diocese of Płock, is attended by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, President of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska, members of the regional executive board and regional councillors, Bishop of Płock Szymon Stułkowski, as well as members of parliament, representatives of the government administration, local government officials and representatives of rural communities from across the region. The programme includes a handicraft fair and inspiring craft workshops, a folk band showcase, an agricultural machinery exhibition and the Miss Rypin Agra ’26 competition. Grzegorz Hyży will be the star of the evening. Brodnica has been officially announced as the host of next year’s Kujawsko-Pomorskie Harvest Festival.
“Dear farmers, I thank you for every day of your work. It is thanks to your hard work, from dawn until night, that bread is produced on family farms, bringing with it a sense of security for us all,” emphasised Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “The countryside, however, is not only about bread. Above all, it is our heritage, our traditions and our attachment to the land – values that we must not allow to be lost. Let us learn from farmers their love of their native land, respect for work and how to build Poland’s future together. These beautiful harvest wreaths show that everyday toil can be transformed into a genuine work of art and, above all, into an expression of respect for the land and human labour. I wish for all of us that solidarity and cooperation will never be lacking, because they enable us to create things that are truly beautiful and important.”
“One of the most beautiful chapters of Polish literature is Reymont’s ‘The Peasants’, which reminds us how important the land and the traditions associated with it are to the Polish countryside. Today, however, it is equally important for tradition to meet modernity. That is why I would particularly like to address young farmers: choose the countryside as your place to live,” said Chairwoman of the Regional Assembly Elżbieta Piniewska in her address. “As the daughter of a baker, I know the taste of fresh bread brought straight from the bakery. May we never be without that bread.”
Guests at our harvest festival also include, among others, Ambassador of Peru to Poland Gloria Lissette Nalvarte Simoni de Isasi and Mayor of the Molėtai District Municipality in Lithuania Saulius Jauneika.
The harvest festival events are taking place on the grounds of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Rypin. The main decorative theme consists of stained-glass motifs inspired by the work of the Bednarski workshop in Rypin.
The official celebrations began with a solemn open-air Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop of Płock Szymon Stułkowski.
“I am very grateful to God that we have such wise people who, while educating the younger generation, teach them about modernity and at the same time show them the roots from which we have grown. I am pleased that, as the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region and the Diocese of Płock, we can together give thanks to God for the harvest and ask Him to bless the work of farmers and all those who support them. Jesus shows us that we should become a gift – a selfless gift to Him and to another person,” Bishop Szymon Stułkowski noted in his homily.
The service was followed by the official part of the celebrations, including speeches, the presentation of awards and the announcement of the results of the harvest festival competitions. During the ceremony, Marshal Piotr Całbecki was honoured by the Provincial Union of Farmers, Agricultural Circles and Organisations with the title of Patron of the WZRKiOR in Bydgoszcz.
The Marshal’s Sowers of Tradition distinction, awarded for the second time to recognise commitment to preserving the traditions of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie countryside, was presented to:

The winners of the harvest festival competitions are:
- Słoneczko Rural Housewives’ Association (KGW) in Ludzisko, Inowrocław County – harvest dish
- Toruń County Office – county harvest festival stand
- Aktywny Zakątek Rural Housewives’ Association in Toruń County – KGW harvest festival stand
- Szczuplińskie Żurawie Association in Wąbrzeźno County – contemporary harvest wreath
- Rural Housewives’ Association in Chrostkowo, Lipno County – traditional harvest wreath
- Okalewo village – harvest festival welcome display in Rypin County.
We also learned the winners of the regional stage of the “Poland Tastes Good” competition. Third place went to the Gogółkowo Rural Housewives’ Association from Żnin County, second place to the Czarnowo Rural Housewives’ Association from Toruń County, while the winner was the Nowy Ciechocinek Rural Housewives’ Association from Aleksandrów County. The first-prize winners will represent our voivodeship in the national final of the competition in Warsaw.
Festival participants can enjoy a large harvest picnic with a wide range of stands run by rural housewives’ associations, a folk band showcase and the agricultural machinery exhibition, which attracts great interest every year. Visitors are also invited to workshop zones and stands hosted by artists and craftspeople, where they can not only admire but also purchase handmade items. Around 60 stands have been prepared in total, where exhibitors from the region present, among other things, basketry, regional embroidery, ceramics, crocheted decorations, natural candles, herbal bouquets, homemade natural creams, wooden handicrafts and paintings.
A special area has been prepared for the youngest visitors, featuring circus performers, stilt walkers and entertainers. Attractions include circus shows, face painting, glitter tattoos, hair braiding and giant soap bubbles.
An additional event was a 30-kilometre bicycle rally.
The hosts of this year’s Kujawsko-Pomorskie Harvest Festival are Anna and Rafał Zgliniccy, farmers who run a 100-hectare farm in Borzymin, Rypin municipality. Their farm specialises in closed-cycle pig breeding, with 120 sows. The Zgliniccy family makes effective use of European Union support, enabling them to invest boldly in technological development and green energy. Their farm, which has been in the family for generations, is an example of how tradition and modernity can be successfully combined.
