Relax in the Heart of Nature: Gostynińsko-Włocławski Landscape Park (video)

We invite you to spend some time in the region’s landscape parks. There are ten of them in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. These areas offer outstanding natural and tourist attractions, making them ideal places to relax and unwind. In a series of short videos, the parks’ directors and staff share what makes each of them special. Today, Tomasz Przybyszewski, an environmental educator at Gostynińsko-Włocławski Landscape Park, invites you to discover the oldest landscape park in our region.

“A land of lakes and tranquillity. There are more than 40 lakes in our park, the most remarkable of which (…) is Lake Rakutowskie – a vast, breathtaking nature reserve that is home to hundreds of bird species,” says Tomasz Przybyszewski, describing the area’s natural beauty. Another interesting feature of the park is its Protected Bird Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre in Dębniaki (Kowal Municipality, Włocławek County), run by the park’s staff.

“Landscape parks are one of the great treasures of our region. They combine magnificent natural areas with rare plant and animal species, attractive opportunities for hiking and water tourism, numerous rivers and lakes, and fascinating tangible traces of our cultural heritage. Each of our parks is a wonderful place to relax, and the charm of these areas keeps bringing visitors back,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

More than 40 lakes, numerous hiking trails and cycling routes, nearly 800 plant species, and rare bird species are just some of the natural and tourist attractions of Gostynińsko-Włocławski Landscape Park that make it an excellent destination for a relaxing break. During the summer holidays, visitors flock to the bathing areas and beaches on Lakes Wikaryjskie, Wójtowskie, Soczewka and Lucieńskie. The sailing centre on Lake Ciechomickie welcomes sailing enthusiasts, while canoeists can explore the water trail along the Skrwa Lewa River from Lake Lubieńskie.
