LAG agreements – support for initiatives for young people and seniors in Grudziądz

The European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 programme provides funding for a wide range of initiatives designed to engage and empower local communities. Support is awarded through calls for grant projects, with applications invited by Local Action Groups (LAGs). In the coming days, the Grudziądzki Spichlerz Local Action Group will sign grant agreements with beneficiaries to support initiatives for seniors and young people. The total value of grants awarded under the two calls is more than PLN 1.6 million, helping to establish and operate youth clubs and senior clubs.

“Local Action Groups are organisations established by residents, non-governmental organisations and local authorities. Their members are close to the communities they serve, which means they are best placed to understand how to engage local residents and respond to their needs. The funding we provide for LAG activities supports a wide range of initiatives that are important to local communities,” stresses Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

• Representatives of the Grudziądzki Spichlerz Local Action Group will sign and present grant agreements on 19 September under two calls – one supporting the creation and development of youth clubs and the other supporting senior clubs. The ceremony will take place at 10:40 a.m. at the Grudziądz Social Activation Centre “Spichlerz 57”, 57 Spichrzowa Street, Grudziądz.

There are 27 Local Action Groups in our region. They operate in both urban and rural areas and use EU funding administered by the Marshal’s Office, as well as funding made available through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument. By entrusting local communities with funding and the tools they need to make use of it, we are creating a civic budget on a regional scale. The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region is the only Polish region implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
