Funding Directly from Brussels: We Encourage, Facilitate and Support

Local government units, businesses and business support institutions, universities and research centres, non-governmental organisations, healthcare facilities and cultural institutions throughout the region regularly receive dedicated information bulletins prepared by our Regional Office in Brussels. The bulletins present currently available central EU programmes and calls for project funding. This is a new, comprehensive support system introduced by the Marshal’s Office to help potential beneficiaries access funds managed directly by the European Commission. The total budget of central EU programmes under the 2021–2027 financial perspective amounts to nearly EUR 200 billion.

Funding distributed directly by Brussels is often considered difficult to obtain. Nothing could be further from the truth. The process is straightforward, provided that we know how to access these resources. We want our information bulletins, and in the future also a dedicated online portal, to provide local governments, non-governmental organisations, businesses, healthcare institutions, universities and research bodies with easy and up-to-date access to information on funding opportunities available directly under central EU programmes,” emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Three pillars

  • continuous monitoring of central calls for proposals by the Regional Office;
  • regular email updates on current calls;
  • an online call search engine, to be launched soon.

Since July, local government units and all other interested entities, which may register by writing to the email address provided above, have been receiving accessible summaries of all currently open central EU calls, filtered according to their availability to organisations from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region. The summaries include the name of the programme, the application deadline, the target group, the level of funding, a brief description and a link to detailed documentation on the European Commission’s portal.

In addition to the standard information on current, newly opened and upcoming calls for proposals, the latest August bulletin also includes information on organisations seeking partners with whom to apply for and implement projects financed under this mechanism.

Our Department of Economic Development also distributes its own Brussels newsletter addressed to entrepreneurs from the small and medium-sized enterprise sector. Together with European webinars organised by our Brussels-based business expert, the newsletter is intended to provide additional information and support to businesses.
