EFKP Agreements: Social Economy, Culture and Cycle Paths

Today (6 November), representatives of beneficiaries of our regional programme, European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze (EFKP), received 25 grant agreements worth a total of PLN 43.5 million. This round of funding supports projects in areas including the social economy, energy and climate change adaptation, cycle paths as part of urban and suburban mobility, revitalisation of public spaces and support for cultural institutions. The official ceremony at the Marshal’s Office was attended by President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska and Region Board Members Dariusz Kurzawa and Marek Wojtkowski. Download photos.

– Thanks to European funding, Poland is changing, and municipalities and counties are changing for the better. This is something we can be proud of. You now face the hard work of implementing your projects and subsequently accounting for the funds received. We are here to help and remain at your disposal, said Region Board Member Marek Wojtkowski, addressing those gathered.

A total of PLN 20.4 million has been allocated to three projects aimed at strengthening the region’s social economy sector. The initiatives focus on establishing new social enterprises and developing existing ones, enhancing their innovation potential, increasing employment, and supporting people at risk of social exclusion through individually tailored pathways towards professional and social reintegration. The projects will be implemented by the European Youth Cooperation Centre in Toruń, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Centre for Supporting Non-Governmental Initiatives Tłok Association in Toruń, and the Ekspert Kujawy Foundation in Inowrocław.

The ambitious revitalisation of the Planty park area in Grudziądz, to be carried out by the city authorities, will cost nearly PLN 15 million. EFKP funding for the project amounts to over PLN 5 million.

An investment worth PLN 13.6 million will enable the Gothic former Teutonic castle in Świecie to better serve local residents as a venue for cultural and educational events, while also making it an even more attractive tourist destination. The planned works include the reconstruction of the roof, installation of a lift, creation of new circulation routes, installation of lighting and security monitoring systems, and replacement of windows. The project will be implemented by the Municipality of Świecie, with PLN 3.2 million in EFKP funding.

The total value of funding contracted under EFKP currently stands at PLN 5.7 billion, representing 70.7% of the programme’s allocation, with 1,305 project funding agreements signed.
