Current LAG calls for proposals: responding to the needs of local communities

There are 27 Local Action Groups (LAGs) operating in our region – partnerships made up of residents, non-governmental organisations and local governments. They implement initiatives aimed at engaging local communities with the support of European funds allocated to them through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument. LAGs publish calls for proposals on their websites, offering funding for activities that are important from the perspective of local communities. We invite you to explore the current opportunities.

– Together with Local Action Groups and the institutions and organisations operating within their structures, we can respond effectively to the real needs and problems of residents. This is possible because we have entrusted local communities with both funding and the tools needed to make use of it. In this way, we have created a participatory budget on a regional scale – explains Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The calls for proposals currently announced by LAGs offer grants for starting non-agricultural business activities, establishing agritourism farms and facilities, as well as creating so-called short food supply chains. Another interesting opportunity is funding for activities aimed at breaking down stereotypes, which may be used to establish parent clubs. These are meeting places where both parents can take part in motivational workshops and parenting skills training, receive psychological support or participate in activities designed to counter stereotypes. Grants are also continuously available for the establishment and operation of youth clubs and senior clubs. Funding for these initiatives comes from both the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 programme and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

Current LAG calls for proposals:

• 13 calls for proposals,
• support for the development of non-agricultural business activities – a call announced by the “Podgrodzie Toruńskie” Local Action Group Association – more than PLN 790,000, with individual support for an entrepreneur ranging from PLN 50,000 to as much as PLN 500,000,
• more than PLN 2.9 million under a call announced by the “Together for Radziejów County” Local Action Group to support children and young people outside formal education. This includes establishing youth clubs, developing children’s and young people’s talents and helping them work towards specific educational goals (e.g. preparing for and participating in national or international science competitions), as well as projects aimed at increasing knowledge and developing skills useful when choosing educational pathways and in future professional life (e.g. workshops presenting disappearing professions or occupations related to regional traditions).

Local Action Groups are organisations formed by residents, non-governmental organisations and local governments. Their purpose is to implement initiatives that engage and activate local communities. There are 27 such partnerships in the region (LAG map). They operate in both urban and rural areas and use EU funding managed by the Marshal’s Office as well as funds allocated to them through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument. By placing funding and the tools needed to use it in the hands of local communities, we are creating a participatory budget on a regional scale. Kujawsko-Pomorskie is the only Polish region implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
