A Break in the Heart of Nature: Krajeński Landscape Park (video)

We invite you to spend your free time in the landscape parks. There are ten of them in our region. These are places of exceptional natural and tourist value, ideal for a summer break. In a series of short videos, the directors and staff of the landscape parks talk about their attractions. In the final video in the series, Krzysztof Wojtkowiak, Director of Krajeński Landscape Park, invites visitors to discover the park.

– Krajeński Landscape Park is very distinctive compared with the other parks in our voivodeship (…). As much as 66 per cent of its area consists of agricultural land, creating a unique mosaic of forests, farmland, lakes and meadows, which together form (…) a beautiful, open landscape that is truly attractive and unique in our voivodeship – notes Park Director Krzysztof Wojtkowiak.

– Landscape parks are one of the treasures of our region. They combine magnificent natural landscapes with rare species of plants and animals, attractive places for hiking and water tourism, numerous rivers and lakes, as well as fascinating tangible examples of cultural heritage. Each of our parks is a wonderful place to relax, and their charm encourages many visitors to return – says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Krajeński Landscape Park is the largest landscape park in our voivodeship. It covers nearly 75,000 hectares. It is located in the north-western part of our region and includes areas within Sępólno, Nakło and Tuchola counties. The park is known as the land of a hundred lakes, the largest of which is Lake Więcborskie, covering an area of 200 hectares.

Those who enjoy active tourism can choose from fourteen trails, while in summer holiday resorts, beaches and designated bathing areas situated by the lakes await visitors. Observation towers in Sępólno and by Lake Wieleckie offer excellent opportunities for birdwatching. Find out more in our article.
