Our Electric Buses Win the Polish Bus 2026 Award

The Iveco Crossway 12 LE Electric buses purchased by the regional government have been honoured with the prestigious Polish Bus 2026 Award in the intercity bus category. The award ceremony took place on 14 October during the International Fair of Public Transport Transexpo in Kielce.

– Modernising the bus fleet is an important element of the regional government’s policy to develop public transport across the region. This award, presented by the transport industry, confirms the high quality and innovative nature of the vehicles we have selected to operate regional bus services. It also recognises the regional government’s consistent efforts to develop modern, environmentally friendly public transport – emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The award-winning Iveco Crossway 12 LE Electric is a 12-metre electric bus designed for regional and intercity services. The vehicle combines the benefits of zero-emission propulsion with solutions that ensure passenger comfort and safety. As a result, modern electric technology, typically used in urban public transport, is also being successfully deployed on intercity routes in Kujawsko-Pomorskie.

The new buses are significantly modernising the fleet of our regional government-owned transport operator, Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy (KPTS), and improving travel standards on regional routes. Each bus offers 50 seats and modern equipment. The award-winning Iveco Crossway 12 LE Electric is a state-of-the-art electric bus designed for regional and suburban services. The vehicles are equipped with efficient electric drivetrains and batteries providing a range of up to approximately 400 kilometres on a single charge, enabling efficient, emission-free operations.

As part of a programme supported by a record level of funding from Poland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), the regional government has purchased 25 electric and 15 hybrid buses. The total value of the project is PLN 125 million, including PLN 92 million in KPO funding.

The regional government is also investing in modern bus infrastructure. To support its electric fleet, KPTS has installed 24 charging stations across the region. The investment cost PLN 6.7 million.

This year, we will begin construction of two new bus stations in Rypin and Mogilno. Both projects are scheduled for completion in 2027.
