Current Local Action Group Funding Calls: Support for Education, Social Integration and Entrepreneurship
We invite you to explore the current calls for grant applications announced by Local Action Groups (LAGs) across our region. These grants provide funding for initiatives that address the needs of local communities. Current opportunities include support for starting a business or establishing agritourism farms. Funding is also still available for establishing and running youth clubs and senior citizens’ clubs. Local Action Groups implement initiatives aimed at engaging residents with the support of European funds allocated through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument.
– Working together with Local Action Groups and the institutions and organisations involved in their activities, we can respond effectively to the real needs and challenges faced by residents. This is possible because we have entrusted local communities with both the funding and the tools needed to make use of it. In doing so, we have created a participatory budget on a regional scale – explains Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
Further calls for applications are already underway or will open shortly, with funding opportunities offered by as many as seven Local Action Groups. Grants will be available for initiatives including starting non-agricultural businesses, improving access to small-scale public infrastructure, establishing agritourism farms, creating educational youth clubs and setting up Local Knowledge and Education Centres (see list). Funding for these initiatives comes from both the European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie 2021–2027 programme and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
Upcoming Local Action Group Grant Calls:
– Pałuki-Wspólna Sprawa Local Action Group will award grants to beneficiaries starting non-agricultural businesses. Individual entrepreneurs may receive between PLN 50,000 and PLN 150,000, while the total funding available under this call exceeds PLN 1.6 million.
– Pojezierze Brodnickie Local Action Group Association will provide grants for establishing agritourism farms, ranging from PLN 60,000 to PLN 100,000 per farm. Funding may be used for construction alterations or renovations, adapting rooms to accommodate tourists, purchasing equipment for the farm, or acquiring outdoor leisure facilities and recreational equipment for guests to rent, such as bicycles and kayaks.
– Pałuki-Wspólna Sprawa Local Action Group and Czarnoziem na Soli Local Action Group Association will announce two grant calls aimed at improving access to small-scale public infrastructure. Funding may be used for investments in non-commercial public infrastructure, including tourism and recreational facilities. The Pałuki-Wspólna Sprawa Local Action Group has allocated more than PLN 470,000 to its call, while the Czarnoziem na Soli Local Action Group Association will distribute more than PLN 1.4 million for this purpose.
Local Action Groups are partnerships established by residents, non-governmental organisations and local authorities. Their purpose is to implement initiatives that encourage local community involvement and development.
There are 27 such partnerships in our voivodeship (LAG Map). They operate in both urban and rural areas, drawing on EU funding managed by the Marshal’s Office, including resources made available through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument.
By placing funding and the tools needed to access it directly in the hands of local communities, we are creating a participatory budget on a regional scale. Kujawsko-Pomorskie is the only region in Poland implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
