Current LAG Calls: More Grants for Local Initiatives

There are 27 Local Action Groups operating in our region – partnerships formed by residents, non-governmental organisations and local authorities. They implement initiatives aimed at engaging local communities with the support of European funds made available through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument. LAGs publish calls for proposals on their websites, offering funding for projects that are important from the perspective of local communities. We invite you to learn more about the current calls.

– Together with Local Action Groups and the institutions and organisations operating within their structures, we can respond effectively to the real needs and problems of residents. This is possible because we have entrusted local communities with both the funds and the tools needed to make use of them. In this way, we have created a participatory budget on a regional scale – explains Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Recently, as many as eight Local Action Groups have announced further calls for applications. Grants will be available for a wide range of activities aimed at different groups, including establishing and running youth clubs, developing or starting non-agricultural business activities, and improving access to small-scale public infrastructure (list). Funding for these initiatives comes from both the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 programme and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

Upcoming LAG grant calls include:

• more than PLN 3.9 million for projects improving access to small-scale public infrastructure, including the creation of public spaces friendly to local communities and tourists – two calls organised by the Ziemia Wąbrzeska LAG and the “Partnership for Krajna and Pałuki” Association,
• grant calls supporting micro-enterprises – funding for business development (a call organised by the “Bory Tucholskie” LAG) and for starting non-agricultural business activities (a call organised by the Ziemia Wąbrzeska LAG). Individual grants under these calls may range from PLN 50,000 to PLN 300,000 for business development and from PLN 50,000 to PLN 300,000 for starting one’s own business,
• calls supporting young people outside formal education, under which youth clubs may be established and operated, and activities may be organised to prepare young people for national or international science competitions, as well as workshops on disappearing professions and regional traditions. Calls for grant applications for these purposes have been announced by the “Ziemia Gotyku” Local Action Group, the “Czarnoziem na Soli” Local Action Group Association and the Nasza Krajna Association.

There are 27 such partnerships in the region (LAG map). They operate in both urban and rural areas and make use of EU funds managed by the Marshal’s Office, as well as funds made available through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument. By placing funds and the tools needed to use them in the hands of local communities, we are creating a participatory budget on a regional scale. Kujawsko-Pomorskie is the only Polish region implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
