Badges for Village Leadres from Radziejów County (Photos)

They work with dedication for the benefit of residents, bring local communities together and support the development of their villages. During a formal meeting in Radziejów, Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska presented village head badges to local leaders from the area. Photos available for download.

“Village leadres play an extremely important role in local government. They are the officials closest to residents and emerge directly from their local communities. As leaders elected by residents, they foster dialogue, help build consensus around important initiatives and demonstrate every day the immense value of working together for local communities. This is why it is so important that those performing this public service are duly recognised,” emphasises Marshal of the Region Piotr Całbecki.

The meeting in Radziejów provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing local communities and to exchange experiences. The event was also attended by Artur Ruciński, Mayor of the Bytoń Municipality; Sławomir Staniszewski, Mayor of the Osięciny Municipality; Jędrzej Kucharski, Mayor of Piotrków Kujawski; Jarosław Kołtuniak, Head of Radziejów County; and Izabela Szcześniewicz, Secretary of the Dobre Municipality.

There are currently 2,299 village leadres serving in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. They are the closest representatives of local government to residents and are often the first to address local problems and initiate projects supporting the development of their communities. The village head badges funded by the regional government have been presented successively since December 2023.

The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Council of Village Leadres, established by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, has been operating since December 2024. It is the first body of its kind in Poland. It brings together representatives of village administrative units as important partners of the regional government. The Council supports the Marshal of the Voivodeship in matters concerning rural development, territorial policy and the use of funding allocated to local development.
