Bus Transport in the Region: Modern and Environmentally Friendly
In six cities across the region, the regional transport company Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy (KPTS) has just installed 24 charging stations for the electric Iveco buses purchased by the regional government. Today’s (31 July) official launch of the charging station in Rypin was attended by Vice-Marshal of the Region Aneta Jędrzejewska and Regional Councillor Paweł Zgórzyński.
“We are a region that has consistently provided financial support to the regional public bus transport operator for more than a decade. One of our latest investments is the purchase of forty modern, environmentally friendly buses, for which we obtained record funding from the National Recovery Plan. To enable these vehicles to operate, we have installed charging stations in six locations across the region. We are also modernising transport infrastructure. A new bus station will be built in Rypin, and in December, after a 25-year break, rail services to the town will be restored,” emphasised Deputy Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska.
The regional government purchased 25 electric buses and 15 hybrid buses, securing funding for the investment from the National Recovery Plan. The vehicles were supplied by ABP Bus & Coach, the company selected through a tender procedure and a representative of the Iveco Group in Poland.
To operate the electric vehicles, KPTS installed 24 charging stations across the region:
- Brodnica – 6 single-vehicle charging stations and 1 dual-vehicle charging station
- Rypin – 6 single-vehicle charging stations
- Lipno – 4 single-vehicle charging stations
- Mogilno – 3 single-vehicle charging stations
- Włocławek – 2 single-vehicle charging stations
- Inowrocław – 2 single-vehicle charging stations
The investment cost PLN 6.7 million.
The buses purchased by the regional government were also presented during the event in Rypin. The final batch of vehicles was delivered in June.

- Mogilno – Strzelno – Ciechrz – Inowrocław
- Inowrocław – Piechcin – Żnin

- Włocławek – Radziejów – Przemystka
- Włocławek – Lipno – Rypin – Brodnica
- Bydgoszcz – Toruń – Lipno – Włocławek

We are awaiting the outcome of the tender for the construction of bus stations in Rypin and Mogilno.
