Badges Presented to Village Heads from Tuchola County (Photos)

They work with dedication for the benefit of local residents, bring rural communities together, and support the development of their villages. Today, during a ceremonial gathering in Piła, Tuchola County, village heads from the area received honorary village head badges. Photos available for download.

“Thank you to the many village heads who have come from across Tuchola County. We are meeting in the place where you live, work, and serve your local communities every day. As leaders elected directly by residents, you are the best example of dialogue and civic society. It is you who help build consensus around important public initiatives and demonstrate that, despite differences, people can work together for the benefit of their local communities,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Today’s event also provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing local communities and to exchange experiences among rural leaders. The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament Iwona Karolewska and Iwona Kozłowska, members of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Assembly Anna Niewiadomska and Tadeusz Pogoda, as well as representatives of local authorities: Andrzej Urbański, Head of Tuchola County; Tadeusz Kowalski, Mayor of the Town and Municipality of Tuchola; Ireneusz Kucharski, Mayor of Gostycyn Municipality; Daniel Kożuch, Mayor of Śliwice Municipality; and Joanna Jastak, Mayor of Lubiewo Municipality.

List of village heads receiving the badges

There are currently 2,299 village heads serving across the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. They are the public officials closest to local residents and are often the first to address local issues and initiate projects that contribute to the development of their villages. The honorary village head badges, funded by the regional self-government, have been awarded on an ongoing basis since December 2023.

Since December 2024, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Council of Village Heads, established by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, has been in operation. It is the first body of its kind in Poland. The Council brings together representatives of village administrative units as important partners of the regional self-government and representatives of local communities. It supports the Marshal in matters related to rural development, territorial policy, and the use of funding allocated for local development.
