Awards Honouring Theatre Professionals (Photos)

After four decades on the Toruń stage, acclaimed actor Paweł Tchórzewski, renowned for his numerous theatre and film roles, was awarded the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region’s Medal Unitas Durat Palatinatus Cuiaviano-Pomeraniensis on Sunday (5 July). The distinction was presented during the Wilam Awards gala at the Horzyca Theatre by Elżbieta Piniewska, President of the Regional Parliament.

“People are the heart of every theatre. Thanks to their work, theatre entertains, moves audiences, and inspires reflection. I congratulate the artists, patrons of culture, and friends of the Toruń stage,” said Piotr Całbecki, Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.

The Marshal’s Medal was awarded to Paweł Tchórzelski in recognition of his forty years of artistic achievement and his contribution to culture in the region. The actor also received the Grand Wilam Award.

The remaining Wilam Awards were presented to:

  • Joanna Rozkosz of the Wilam Horzyca Theatre – Most Popular Actress
  • Arkadiusz Walesiak of the Wilam Horzyca Theatre – Most Popular Actor
  • Katarzyna Wiśniewska of the General Secondary School in Wąbrzeźno – Theatre Education
  • Grzegorz Panasiuk of Novapol Construction and Services in Toruń – Friend of the Theatre

By presenting the Wilam Awards to institutions and private individuals, the management of the Horzyca Theatre highlighted the importance of cooperation with everyone who cares about the future, development, and artistic excellence of this regional cultural institution.
