A plenary session of the Regional Social Dialogue Council (WRDS) is taking place today (9 June) in Lubostroń, Żnin County, with the participation of Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski, Member of the Regional Executive Board Dariusz Kurzawa, and the current chair of the body, Voivode Michał Sztybel. Topics under discussion include the update of the region’s development strategy, implementation of the strategy over the past year, and key infrastructure investments crucial to the region’s growth.

The principles and timetable for work on the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Development Strategy 2035, adopted by the Regional Parliament in February, formally concern a new strategic document. In practice, however, the process constitutes an update of the strategy currently in force. Such revisions are necessary because development strategies require continuous evaluation, verification against changing economic and social conditions, and regular updating to reflect new realities and priorities.

Responsibility for preparing the assumptions, conducting public consultations, and drafting the final version of the strategy rests with the Regional Executive Board. Analytical and conceptual work will continue through August, while public consultations are scheduled for October–December. The Board intends to submit the completed draft strategy to the Regional Assembly no later than March 2027. Comments and proposals for inclusion in the document may be submitted until 31 July via the online form available in the Public Information Bulletin (BIP).

During today’s meeting, Adam Stańczyk, a member of the WRDS and Director of the Department of Strategic Planning and Regional Cooperation at the Marshal’s Office, presented a report on the implementation of the current regional development strategy, Acceleration Strategy 2030+. The report concluded by emphasizing the need to develop a new strategic document that will define the future directions of the region’s broad socio-economic development.

The meeting is being held at the Lubostroń Palace and Park Complex, home to the Marshal’s cultural institution, Lubostroń Palace. The opening part of the session was attended by the venue’s host, Director Aleksandra Nowakowska.
