Lubostroń Palace – Ongoing and Planned Investments

A thermomodernization project is currently underway at the Lubostroń Palace and Park Complex, home to the regional cultural institution Lubostroń Palace. The project, carried out under the supervision of heritage conservation authorities, involves the renovation of the historic outbuilding that serves as hotel accommodation for visitors. The investment is valued at PLN 2.3 million, with 85 percent of the funding provided through the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze regional programme.

The project includes an energy audit, design work, and modernization works such as façade renovation, replacement of windows, and restoration of the external staircases. As the historic building dates back to the early nineteenth century and is protected as a heritage site, all stages of the works require conservation oversight.

The investment is scheduled for completion in November.

At the same time, intensive preparations are underway for the construction of a photovoltaic farm within the palace complex and for a comprehensive modernization of the site’s technical infrastructure and utility networks. Design work for the solar installation has already been completed, while the technical documentation for the remaining elements of the project is nearing completion.

The photovoltaic installation, with a capacity of up to 50 kilowatts under optimal weather conditions, together with an integrated energy storage system, will provide electricity for local needs.

This part of the project is both a cost-saving measure and an investment in environmental protection. I am pleased that prosumer and environmentally friendly solutions are becoming increasingly common across our region,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki in July 2024, when the project was first being developed.

The remaining elements of the project focus on the reorganization and modernization of the site’s energy, water, and wastewater infrastructure. Planned works include upgrades to the water supply system, sewage and stormwater drainage systems, and the irrigation network serving the park grounds. The heating system will also be modernized through the installation of environmentally friendly heat pumps and a gas condensing boiler. Additional measures include upgrades to telecommunications and lighting networks, featuring a smart lighting system for the park, as well as waterproofing of the palace and hunting lodge foundations and the installation of a new fire protection system.

Most visitors to Lubostroń will not directly see these improvements, but they will certainly benefit from a more efficient and reliable infrastructure.

One visible element of the project will be two water retention reservoirs, which will provide water for irrigating the park. Lubostroń Palace Director Aleksandra Nowakowska emphasizes the importance of this component, noting that the park covers an area of 42 hectares.

The projects are being managed by Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Investments, a special-purpose company owned by the regional government. Funding is provided from the budget of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.
