Our laureate with the award for Best Original Score 2025
Bydgoszcz Composer Jerzy Rogiewicz Wins Award for Best Original Score 2025. Jerzy Rogiewicz from Bydgoszcz composed the music for the popular comedy series 1670.
The Polska Ścieżka Dźwiękowa Roku 2025 (Polish Soundtrack of the Year 2025) competition was decided on 13 May during the Krakow Film Music Festival. Jerzy Rogiewicz won for the music composed for the second season of Netflix’s hit series 1670, directed by Maciej Buchwald and Kordian Kądziela. The laureate received a statuette and a cash prize of PLN 15,000. He will also have the opportunity to present his compositions during next year’s edition of the festival.
Jerzy Rogiewicz was born in 1983 in Bydgoszcz. He studied at the Academy of Music in Kraków, among others under the supervision of Krzysztof Penderecki. He is a versatile composer and multi-instrumentalist, playing drums, keyboards, and vibraphone, skillfully combining elements of jazz, improvisation, film music, and children’s music. In 2025, during the Fonomo Music & Film Festival, he received the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Film Award named after Pola Negri “for combining compositional precision with sensitivity to image and the intuition of an improviser.”

He is the composer of music for films including Krew Boga by Bartosz Konopka, Fucking Bornholm by Anna Kazejak, Teściowie and Teściowie 3 by Jakub Michalczuk, Miasto by Marcin Sauter, as well as both seasons of 1670. Together with Bartek Tyciński, he created soundtracks for the series Morderczynie and Absolutni debiutanci.
He also composed a musical fairy tale based on Janusz Korczak’s novel King Matt the First for children’s solo voices, choir, and symphony orchestra. He co-creates the duo Jerz Igor together with Igor Nikiforow, collaborates with Marcin Masecki and Zoia Michailova, and also performs solo. As an orchestra conductor, he worked on the album 1976: A Space Odyssey recorded by Zbigniew Wodecki with the accompaniment of Mitch & Mitch Orchestra.
