Officials take the oath of office

“I solemnly swear that, in the position I hold, I will serve the Polish state and the local self-government community, uphold the rule of law, and diligently carry out the duties entrusted to me” — these are the words of the oath taken today (April 30) by twelve employees of the Marshal’s Office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, who have completed their preparatory service.

“Working at the Marshal’s Office is a highly responsible task. Through your work, you serve the residents of our region. I believe that by conscientiously fulfilling your duties, you will meet all professional challenges. I wish you many successes and satisfaction in your work,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

In accordance with the Act on Local Self-Government Employees, individuals taking up employment for the first time in local government units in clerical (including managerial) positions sign a fixed-term employment contract for up to six months. During this period, they are required to complete preparatory service. They then take an exam, the successful completion of which is a condition for continued employment.

This was the fifty-second oath-taking ceremony at the Marshal’s Office since the Act on Local Self-Government Employees of November 21, 2008, came into force.
