“Lucia di Lammermoor” by Donizetti, prepared by the Opera Nova company under the direction of world-class director Thaddeus Strassberger, inaugurated the 32nd Bydgoszcz Opera Festival. The ceremonial premiere was attended by the President of the Regional Parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska, and the Vice-Marshal of the Voivodeship, Zbigniew Ostrowski. – “Lucia di Lammermoor” is a story about what happens to a person who is denied the space to be themselves. […] For me, this opera is therefore about the point of no return—about how long one can live against one’s own nature and what happens when that becomes impossible. This is not an abstract tragedy. It is something very real,” explains Thaddeus Strassberger.

The event, held on the Marshal’s stage of Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, is co-financed by the regional government.
