Youth NGOs Take Action, Regional Government Provides Support
As much as PLN 300,000 will be allocated this year to youth non-governmental organisations from across the region for projects supporting the education and development of young people. The funds have been distributed through an open call for proposals for public tasks carried out as part of the regional government’s responsibilities. Eleven initiatives will receive support.
– Youth organisations make an important contribution to the upbringing and development of young people, which makes them valuable partners for the regional government. They carry out many socially valuable projects that enable children and young people to learn about Scouting values, develop their interests and spend their free time actively – emphasises Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Piotr Całbecki.
The funding for youth NGOs comes from the Region budget. Grants will go to Scouting organisations, associations and school sports clubs from across the region. Beneficiaries include the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Branch of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP), including Scout districts in Aleksandrów Kujawski, Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Inowrocław, Tuchola and Żnin County. Funding will also be provided to school sports clubs from Toruń and Cyprianka in Włocławek County. The support will make it possible to organise Scout rallies and gatherings, implement educational programmes engaging young people and developing their competences, as well as organise summer trips.
NGO grants in figures:
- PLN 300,000 for projects run by youth organisations supporting the education and development of children and young people,
- 11 projects from across the region supported under this call,
- PLN 46,000 – the highest grant awarded in this call,
- PLN 10 million for NGO projects from the budget of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.
Every year, the regional government supports projects implemented by non-governmental organisations in the fields of culture, sport, addiction prevention and treatment, social assistance, healthcare, tourism and activities supporting people with disabilities. This year, nearly PLN 10 million has been allocated for this purpose.
