Sępólno Krajeńskie Bypass: An Important Step Towards Implementation

We are continuing our regional bypass construction programme. We have obtained a road construction permit (ZRID) for the southern bypass of Sępólno Krajeńskie along Voivodeship Road No. 241. The permit approves the new subdivision of properties and enables the acquisition of land required for the investment. Once the design work has been completed, it will also provide the legal basis for commencing construction.

– Our bypass construction programme is an important part of modernising the regional road network. New routes allow transit traffic to be diverted away from towns, improving road safety, traffic flow and residents’ quality of life, says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The 1.5-kilometre bypass will follow the corridor agreed upon during public consultations. The route will connect Grochowiec (on Voivodeship Road No. 241 towards Nakło) with Siedlisko, where a roundabout will be built. This roundabout will mark the beginning of the new alignment of National Road No. 25, forming the eastern section of the Sępólno Krajeńskie bypass. The project will also include the construction of a new overpass across the Sępólno–Nakło railway line.

The selected route will pass to the north of the photovoltaic farm and include a service road providing access to areas covered by the local spatial development plan. The project is being coordinated with the design and construction of the bypass along National Road No. 25, which is being financed from central government funds.

We are currently finalising the detailed engineering design. The next step will be to announce a tender for the construction works.

This year, we are also implementing other road infrastructure projects in Sępólno County:

  • We have applied for a road construction permit for the Więcbork bypass.
  • Reconstruction of a 5-kilometre section of Voivodeship Road No. 189 between Zakrzewska Osada and Witunia is underway. The project, worth over PLN 10 million, will be completed later this year.
  • Reconstruction work is underway on sections of Voivodeship Road No. 241 between Świdwie and Zboże.
  • Design work is underway for the reconstruction of sections of Voivodeship Road No. 189 in Sypniewo and Voivodeship Road No. 241 in Zboże.
  • We are improving lighting at pedestrian crossings along Voivodeship Road No. 241.

Further Progress on Major Projects

We are continuing work on additional projects under our Kujawsko-Pomorskie regional bypass construction programme. In recent weeks:

  • We have completed construction work on the second stage of the Mogilno bypass and are preparing to open it to traffic.
  • We have relaunched the procurement procedure for the development of a conceptual design for a new road corridor connecting Toruń with Voivodeship Road No. 569. The submitted bids are currently being evaluated.
  • We are intensively developing preliminary design options aimed at improving traffic flow on Voivodeship Road No. 223 in Białe Błota and preparing for public consultations.
  • Earthworks are underway on the construction of the Trląg bypass along Voivodeship Road No. 255.
  • We have obtained the environmental decision required for the construction of the Radzyń Chełmiński bypass. We are continuing to prepare the documentation for the selected route and conducting geological surveys.

Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Bypass Construction Programme

The regional government is steadily increasing funding for design and construction work under its regional bypass construction programme. The programme covers bypasses with a total length of more than 70 kilometres. Its implementation over the coming years will require an investment of PLN 1 billion.

We are allocating a record EUR 136 million to the expansion and modernisation of road infrastructure under our 2021–2027 regional programme. We have also secured PLN 170 million in central government funding for three bypasses: Brodnica, Rypin and Tuchola.
