Musejon for the Seventh Time

Museum professionals from our region organize numerous events, conferences, and educational workshops promoting the heritage of Kuyavia and Pomerania. In recognition of their daily work and dedication, we will honor the best museum initiatives. Applications for the Musejon Kujawsko-Pomorskie Museum Event of the Year competition are open until April 30.

By awarding these prizes, we thank employees of museum institutions for carrying out projects that present important aspects of our history in a unique and engaging way,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Projects may be submitted in three categories:

  • Exhibition (temporary and permanent exhibitions, presented both in museum facilities and in public spaces);
  • Research and publishing activity (publications, including e-books and audiobooks, as well as conferences and completed research projects);
  • Education and regionalism (educational activities and initiatives promoting and popularizing the region’s heritage).

Projects may be submitted by museums or other entities engaged in museum-related activities located within the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.

In each category, one main prize and two distinctions will be awarded. Winners will receive Musejon statuettes designed and created by Sebastian Mikołajczak—a Toruń-based artist and scholarship holder of the Marshal of the Voivodeship.

Last year, the main prizes were awarded to the District Museum in Toruń for the project “Gingerbread Moulds in Polish Museum Collections. A Research Project” and to the Jan Kasprowicz Museum in Inowrocław for the project “The Bear.” The honorary Musejon statuette was presented to Maria Pokrzywnicka, a retired curator of the Maria Znamierowska-Prüfferowa Ethnographic Museum in Toruń and former head of its education department.
