Kujawsko-Pomorskie Education Leader – Applications Open Until 5 September
They support children and young people in developing their passions, are creative and committed, and know how to motivate students to learn – the best teachers. The “Kujawsko-Pomorskie Education Leader” competition is dedicated to them. Applications may be submitted until 5 September. Competition rules and application form available below.
“Teaching is not a profession for everyone – you have to love it, identify with it, and take joy in your students’ successes,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “We want educators who work according to the highest standards, have significant professional achievements, introduce original ideas and innovative methods into schools, share their experience with others, are active in their communities, and encourage young people to adopt the same attitude, to become role models for their colleagues.”
Candidates may be nominated by governing bodies of schools and educational institutions, headteachers, trade unions, associations, and non-governmental organizations. A competition committee appointed by the Marshal of the Region will select the eighteen best educators of the past school year. The privilege of choosing the very best among them – the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Education Leader – remains with the head of the region himself. The title is accompanied by a commemorative statuette. The remaining seventeen educators will receive equal distinctions, and all eighteen laureates will also receive financial awards.
Last year, the title of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Education Leader was awarded to Elżbieta Dąbkowska, a teacher of chemistry, mathematics, technology, IT, and safety education at the Heroes of Westerplatte Public Primary School in Tłuchowo, Lipno County. The title of Top Education Leader 2025 went to Beata Mendra, headteacher of School Complex No. 19 in Bydgoszcz.
