Holidays in the Heart of Nature: Górzno-Lidzbark Landscape Park (Video)

We invite you to spend your summer holidays in our landscape parks. There are ten of them in our region. These areas of outstanding natural beauty and great tourist appeal are perfect destinations for a summer break. Throughout the holiday season, the directors and staff of our landscape parks will present their attractions in a series of short videos. Today, Tomasz Górny, Director of the Górzno-Lidzbark Landscape Park, invites you to discover the park.

– Our park is an area particularly appreciated by visitors for its peace and tranquillity, its natural surroundings, which provide an excellent opportunity for a digital detox, as well as its wide range of nature education trails, hiking, cycling and horse-riding routes, gravel cycling trails, and environmental education activities offered at the Environmental Education Centre in Ruda, says Director Tomasz Górny, encouraging visitors to discover the park’s attractions.

– Landscape parks are one of the great treasures of our region. They combine magnificent natural landscapes with rare species of plants and animals, attractive destinations for hiking and water tourism, numerous rivers and lakes, as well as fascinating tangible evidence of our cultural heritage. Each of our parks is a wonderful place to relax, and their unique charm makes many visitors eager to return, says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Due to its remarkable terrain, the Górzno-Lidzbark Landscape Park is sometimes referred to as the “Little Bieszczady Mountains”. Its landscape combines hilly areas with vast expanses of woodland, with forests covering more than 70 per cent of the park’s area.

More than 250 kilometres of cycling and hiking trails run through the park. Nordic walking enthusiasts can choose from four routes, with a combined length of 29 kilometres and varying levels of difficulty. Most of the trails follow forest roads and avenues. Along the routes, visitors will find information boards suggesting exercises as well as heart-rate monitoring points.

Tourists can also explore six educational nature trails with a total length of more than 35 kilometres.
