FEdKP agreements: education, safety, and cultural investments
Agreements worth nearly 50 million złoty in total were received today by beneficiaries of the regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze (FEdKP). The ceremonial meeting at the Marshal’s Office was attended by Chair of the Regional Assembly Elżbieta Piniewska, Vice-Chair Przemysław Sznajdrowski, and Members of the Regional Board Dariusz Kurzawa and Marek Wojtkowski.
“Every złoty launched through these agreements will contribute to improving the quality of life of the region’s residents,” said Chair Elżbieta Piniewska in her opening remarks. She highlighted, among other things, projects aimed at improving the quality of education in regional schools, emphasizing that money spent on education is always a reliable investment.
“I am pleased that these projects are distributed across the entire region, as it means we are supporting balanced regional development,” added Vice-Chair Przemysław Sznajdrowski.
Board member Dariusz Kurzawa pointed to the importance of investments supporting volunteer fire brigades, which are a key element of the safety system. One such project—co-financing the construction of a fire station in Paterek – was represented at today’s ceremony by the mayor of Nakło nad Notecią, Sławomir Napierała. The financial support for this investment amounts to half a million złoty.
Another important project, not only at the local level, is the construction of a cycling path along regional road no. 534 from Grudziądz to Rypin and further to the Chopin Centre in Szafarnia. The mayor of Radomin municipality, Piotr Wolski (the municipality is the investor), noted that improving bicycle access to the centre is one of the key goals of the project. The municipality is also undertaking a comprehensive modernization of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre building in Radomin. The total funding for both investments amounts to 3 million złoty.
Among today’s beneficiaries are also the city of Grudziądz, which is preparing to create a museum education centre in one of its historic granaries (grant: 10 million złoty), and the Autism Polska Foundation, which will establish in Toruń the first centre in the region dedicated to supporting adults on the autism spectrum and with multiple disabilities (grant: 10 million złoty).
During the same meeting, a letter of intent was signed regarding the organization of a regional symposium on road safety (22–23 September). The document was signed by Board member Marek Wojtkowski, the mayor of Grudziądz Maciej Glamowski, and the president of the Bezpieczni.eu Foundation, Robert Majewski.
