Marshal Piotr Całbecki took part today in the ceremonial presentation of the colours to the General Karol Otto Kniaziewicz 12th Military Support Unit (12th Military Economic Unit), stationed in Toruń. The head of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region served as the godfather of the colours funded by a civic committee chaired by the Mayor of Toruń, Paweł Gulewski.

“In the Polish military tradition, a standard has never been merely an intricately embroidered piece of fabric. It is a symbol embodying values and ideals, trust, and the principles around which soldiers’ honour, loyalty to the Homeland and a sense of the highest duty are united. (…) In these uncertain times, the armed forces remain the guarantor of the security of the Republic of Poland,” Marshal Piotr Całbecki told participants gathered in Toruń’s Old Town Market Square for the ceremony.

The godmother of the colours is Karolina Sokalska, Chancellor of Nicolaus Copernicus University.
