Badges Presented to Village Heads from Żnin County (Photos)

They work tirelessly for local residents, bring communities together and support the development of their villages and towns. On Friday (18 September), during the 1st Local Government Forum of Village Heads of Żnin County, held in Barcin (Żnin County), another group of local rural leaders received village head badges. “Village heads are a very important link in local administration – the one closest to residents and emerging directly from local communities. They build dialogue, help create consensus around important initiatives and demonstrate every day that working together for the benefit of local communities is of tremendous value. That is why it is so important that people serving in this role are recognized and appreciated,” emphasizes Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Piotr Całbecki.

The 1st Local Government Forum of Village Heads of Żnin County was held in Barcin. Discussions during the forum focused, among other things, on the functioning of village administrative units, safety and crisis situations, and the future of rural Poland.

There are currently 2,299 village heads in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. The village head badges, funded by the regional self-government, have been presented to them on an ongoing basis since December 2023.

Since December 2024, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Council of Village Heads has been in operation, established by Marshal Piotr Całbecki. It is the first institution of its kind in Poland. The council supports the Region Marshal in shaping regional self-government policy concerning the development of rural areas.
