Just One Week to Go – Celebrate with Goose Specialities in Przysiek on 10 and 11 November!

“Kujawsko-Pomorskie Goose for St Martin’s Day” is an initiative launched by Marshal Piotr Całbecki in 2009. This year’s Goose Festival will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (10–11 November) in Przysiek, near Toruń. Programme

– In Kujawsko-Pomorskie, we have succeeded in establishing a tradition of celebrating National Independence Day with our families. An essential part of this tradition is gathering around the family table and enjoying goose dishes together. We warmly invite everyone to Przysiek for our annual festival – says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

This year’s Goose Festival will feature more than 100 exhibitors offering a wide range of exceptional products, including regional specialities, food from local producers and handicrafts. Younger visitors can look forward to games, competitions with prizes and film screenings.

The best goose meat producers will compete for the Golden Half-Goose Award (Złoty Półgęsek), a special distinction presented since 2012.

The hugely popular cooking demonstrations and tastings will take place at the Goose Tavern (Gęsia Karczma), hosted by renowned culinary experts:

  • Kurt Scheller,
  • Katarzyna Bosacka,
  • Marcin Budynek,
  • Sébastien Miraux.

Free admission tickets for the cooking demonstrations will be available at the Marshal’s Office promotional tent. The events will also be broadcast on large screens and streamed live online at czasnagesine.pl.

Detailed programme:

Visitors will be able to reach the festival via an alternative route through Barbarka or use free shuttle buses operating from Toruń and Bydgoszcz. Further details will be announced soon.

We have also launched two competitions for residents of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, aimed at promoting goose dishes and celebrating National Independence Day together:

As is tradition, on Saturday, 24 October, we distributed geese among residents through competitions organised in regional and local media. The geese are intended for festive family meals on National Independence Day. This year, a total of 2,026 geese were distributed – a symbolic number corresponding to the current calendar year.

Another integral part of our campaign is the serving of goose dishes by restaurants throughout Poland. Information about participating establishments is available at czasnagesine.pl.
