LAG Dolina Drwęcy – New Grants for Local Communities
The European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie 2021–2027 programme provides funding for various grassroots initiatives. By placing both financial resources and the tools needed to access them in the hands of local communities, we are creating a participatory budget on a regional scale. Calls for applications are announced by Local Action Groups (LAGs), with funding awarded through competitive grant schemes. On 5 November, beneficiaries of two calls for proposals organised by the Dolina Drwęcy Local Action Group will receive their grant agreements.
– Local Action Groups are organisations established by residents, non-governmental organisations and local governments. Their members work closely with local communities and therefore have the best understanding of how to engage residents and respond to their needs. The funding we provide to Local Action Groups supports a wide range of socially important initiatives – emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
Representatives of the Dolina Drwęcy Local Action Group will present grant agreements under two funding schemes on 5 November at 2 p.m. at the Business Incubator in Sokołowo (Golub-Dobrzyń municipality):
- Initiatives supporting social integration, which will enable the operation of five senior citizens’ clubs in Golub-Dobrzyń County. Nearly PLN 500,000 has been allocated for this purpose, with individual grants ranging from PLN 95,000 to PLN 100,000 per club.
- Initiatives supporting children and young people outside formal education. Under this scheme, the Dolina Drwęcy Local Action Group has awarded seven grants to establish and operate youth clubs. The total funding exceeds PLN 680,000. Thanks to this support, new spaces for young people to meet, participate in activities and develop their interests will be established throughout Golub-Dobrzyń County, not only in Golub-Dobrzyń itself but also in smaller towns and villages, including Nowogród, Węgiersk and Kowalewo Pomorskie.
There are 27 Local Action Groups in our voivodeship (LAG map). Operating in both urban and rural areas, they benefit from EU funding managed by the Marshal’s Office, including resources provided through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) approach. Kujawsko-Pomorskie is the only region in Poland implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
