Our Local Action Groups Keep Up the Momentum – Grant Agreements for Beneficiaries of Four Calls for Proposals

The European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie 2021–2027 programme provides funding for various initiatives aimed at engaging and empowering local communities. Support is distributed through calls for grant projects, with applications invited by Local Action Groups (LAGs). On 21 and 22 October, three Local Action Groups from our region will present grant agreements to beneficiaries selected under four calls for proposals.

– Local Action Groups are organisations established by residents, non-governmental organisations and local governments. Their members work closely with local communities and therefore understand best how to engage residents and respond to their needs. The funding we allocate to Local Action Groups supports a wide range of socially important initiatives – emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The upcoming grant agreement ceremonies:

– The “Partnership for Krajna and Pałuki” Association will present six grant agreements on 21 October in Nakło nad Notecią (Stanisław Staszic School Complex, 18 Staszica Street) for initiatives promoting adult education and learning. Thanks to funding totalling over PLN 1.4 million, six Local Knowledge and Education Centres (LOWE) will be established in Nakło County. These centres provide non-formal education for adults and operate within existing educational institutions. They offer classes and workshops tailored to the needs of local residents, enabling participants to acquire or develop digital, environmental and social skills.

– The Bory Tucholskie Local Action Group will present grant agreements to beneficiaries of two calls for proposals on 22 October at 11 a.m. at the Local Development Centre in Tuchola:

  1. A call for grant projects aimed at challenging gender stereotypes, including motivational workshops for parents, the establishment of parenting clubs and support for women returning to the labour market. The total funding exceeds PLN 500,000.
  2. A call for grant projects to establish Local Knowledge and Education Centres. Thanks to PLN 1.5 million in funding, six such centres will be established in Tuchola County.

– The “Lower Vistula Bend” Local Action Group will present ten grant agreements on 22 October for projects supporting the social integration of older people. The funding will support both the establishment and operation of senior clubs and activities promoting social inclusion, such as community events, intergenerational meetings and environmental initiatives involving young people and seniors. More than PLN 975,000 has been allocated for this purpose.

There are 27 Local Action Groups in our voivodeship (LAG map). They operate in both urban and rural areas, drawing on EU funding managed by the Marshal’s Office and resources made available through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) approach.

By placing both funding and the tools needed to access it directly in the hands of local communities, we are creating a participatory budget on a regional scale. Kujawsko-Pomorskie is the only region in Poland implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
