Half a Million Zlotys for Sporting Events Across the Region
Organisers of 120 sporting events have received more than half a million zlotys from the regional budget to stage a wide variety of competitions and tournaments across the region. The funding has supported, among others, running events, football, basketball and handball tournaments, as well as chess and gymnastics competitions.
– Providing grants for so-called small sporting events is part of the regional government’s policy aimed at promoting physical activity and sport in Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Thanks to this funding, events can be organised that bring local communities together and encourage residents to get involved, including in smaller towns and villages – emphasises Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship Piotr Całbecki.
The supported events include both regular competitions and tournaments for children and adults, as well as larger events of nationwide scope. Funding was awarded, among others, to the Włocławek Kyokushin Karate Club for the organisation of a karate tournament, as well as to the organisers of the Brodnica Cup 2026 handball tournament and the Aleks Cup 2026 football tournament in Aleksandrów Kujawski.

Every year, the regional government provides financial support for projects carried out by non-governmental organisations in the fields of social policy, culture, sport, addiction prevention, healthcare, tourism and activities benefiting people with disabilities. This year, as a result of 37 grant competitions held so far, we have allocated PLN 10 million to finance 538 projects prepared by 497 public benefit organisations.
