Badges for Village Leaders from Włocławek County (photos)

They work with dedication for the benefit of residents, bring local communities together and support the development of their villages. Today, during a ceremony in Kruszyn (Włocławek County), village leaders from the area received badges honouring their service. Photos available for download

– Thank you to all the female and male village Leaders from across Włocławek County for coming in such large numbers. We have met in a place where you live, work and serve your residents every day. As leaders of local communities, directly elected by residents, you are the best example of dialogue and civil society. It is you who help build consensus around important public projects and show that, despite differences, people can work together for the good of their local communities – emphasised Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing local communities and to exchange experiences among village leaders. Deputy Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska and Member of the Region Board Marek Wojtkowski also took part in the ceremony.

There are currently 2,299 village Leaders serving in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. They are the people closest to residents and are often the first to address local problems and initiate measures supporting the development of their villages. The badges funded by the regional government have been awarded and presented to village Leaders on a regular basis since December 2023.

Since December 2024, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Council of Village Leaders, established by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, has been in operation. It is the first body of its kind in Poland. It brings together representatives of village communities as important partners of the regional government and representatives of local communities. The Council supports the Marshal of the Region in matters relating to rural development, territorial policy and the use of funds allocated to local development.
