One Million Zlotys for the Third Sector

Representatives of thirty-four non-governmental organisations from across the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region received grant agreements on Tuesday (14 July) to implement their Individual Development Plans (IDPs). In this funding round, a total of PLN 1 million has been allocated under the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze (FEdKP), the region’s EU-funded programme. The agreements were presented by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska, Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska, and Member of the Regional Executive Board Marek Wojtkowski.

“These funds enable non-governmental organisations operating in our region to finance their day-to-day activities, from improving technical facilities to carrying out promotional initiatives. The grants also help newly established associations, foundations and sports clubs launch and develop their operations,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki during the ceremony.

“You need to be creative, determined, consistent and, above all, empathetic, because everything you do is dedicated to serving the community,” President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska told the participants.

“The strength of our region lies in leaders like you,” added Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska.

In the first call for proposals, funding was awarded to 34 non-governmental organisations, each receiving a grant of PLN 30,000.

The grants may be used to finance postgraduate studies, professional training, the preparation of marketing strategies, promotional materials, office equipment, computer software, and the creation and maintenance of websites.

The second call for applications remains open until 15 July. A third call will be announced in the autumn.

Every year, the regional self-government provides financial support for projects implemented by non-governmental organisations in the fields of social policy, culture, sport, addiction prevention, healthcare, tourism, and activities benefiting people with disabilities. This year, through 37 grant competitions completed so far, the regional self-government has allocated PLN 10 million to support 538 projects prepared by 497 public benefit organisations.
