In the evening, at 6:00 PM, an open-air concert titled “Energy of Freedom” will take place at the amphitheater of the Ethnographic Museum, featuring the Military Orchestra in Toruń. On May 3, events will begin at 10:30 AM with the laying of flowers at the plaque commemorating the events of May 1 and 3, 1982, at the Old Town Market Square. At 11:00 AM, a Holy Mass for the homeland will be held at St. John’s Cathedral. The celebrations will conclude with a military ceremony at 12:30 PM.
In Bydgoszcz, the celebration of Polish Flag Day will begin on May 2 at 12:00 PM, with the main events planned at the Old Market Square. The official part will conclude with a military ceremony, after which participants will be able to join a family bicycle rally under the white-and-red flag. The following day, May 3, from 12:15 PM to 3:00 PM, ceremonies commemorating the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of May 3 will take place. These will include a joint singing of the national anthem, the raising of the national flag, and a performance by the “Płomienie” Song and Dance Ensemble. Organizers have also prepared educational stands, guided walks, and attractions for families, including a “Little Patriot Corner.”
Celebrations related to the national white-and-red holidays will also take place in other towns of the region, including Włocławek, Inowrocław, Grudziądz, Wąbrzeźno, Rypin, Nakło nad Notecią, and Pakość. The “Patriotic May Picnic” in Osówiec (Bydgoszcz County), organized by the Land Forces Museum, promises to be particularly interesting. From May 1 to 3, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, participants will be able to take part in educational and recreational events with a historical and military theme.
