Graphic – Screenwriting Workshops with Kacper Wysocki

Screenwriting workshops as part of the Criminal Constellation festival

Writing a good crime film script is a true art. On the one hand, you need to come up with an engaging mystery; on the other, you have to present it in a way that keeps viewers hooked from episode to episode – and doesn’t let them solve it too quickly. As part of the 5th edition of the Criminal Constellation Kujawy and Pomorze, screenwriting workshops will be held, led by a master of the genre, Kacper Wysocki.

The organizers encourage participation in these free, two-day workshops. “How do you write such an intriguing opening scene that the viewer can’t walk away from the screen?” reads the festival website. “During the workshop, we will focus precisely on teasers – the opening scenes in crime series. By combining theory with analysis of selected existing scenes, we will concentrate on how to construct and properly write a teaser so that it captures the audience not just for a single episode, but for an entire season.”

Kacper Wysocki is a Polish screenwriter, creative producer, and script consultant. He is a graduate of screenwriting at the National Film School in Łódź, where he later also became a lecturer. He is a co-creator and writer of scripts for popular Polish TV and streaming series such as Klangor, Zmora, Królowa, Belfer, Feedback, and Go Ahead, Brother. His work focuses mainly on drama, thriller, and crime genres. His projects have received nominations from the Polish Screenwriters Guild. He is currently working on the screenplay adaptation of the novel Gołoborze by Maciej Siembieda.

The workshops will take place at the Copernicun Library in Toruń on April 25-26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Registration is open until April 23 via the Criminal Constellation website.
