Proud of Our Spas

GreenSpas is an international project connecting spa regions and cities across the European Union to better prepare for the effects of climate change and promote green, sustainable development. The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, as one of the partners, actively participates in exchanging experiences and implementing innovative solutions. Today, we are hosting representatives from partner organizations across seven countries.

“Each meeting of this kind holds promotional value for the region. GreenSpas facilitates the exchange of experiences and demonstrates how spa towns can be developed. As a region, we have much to be proud of; our sanatorium potential is the second largest in the country. We have spa resorts where a lot is happening. We are implementing major projects in them, such as the pool infrastructure project in Ciechocinku. We attach great importance to this direction of our region’s development. We also want to show our partners our tourist attractions and culture,” said Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski.

The Marshal’s Office participates in several projects regarding sustainable development, including short supply chains and biodiversity protection under Interreg (the European Union’s regional cooperation program). Activities carried out within these projects promote best practices, serve the exchange of experiences, and adapt local government actions to climate challenges.

GreenSpas focuses, among other things, on introducing modern solutions in areas such as water and energy management and spa infrastructure. As part of the study visits, we are showing project partners sites like the brine graduation towers in Ciechocinek and Inowrocław. They will also visit locations associated with best practices already registered in the Interreg database, such as the naszelokalne.pl purchasing platform and “Bydgoszcz – the Sponge City.”
