Millions of PLN for the restoration of historic monuments in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region

More than PLN 15 million is the amount of this year’s support from the regional government for conservation repairs, restoration work, and construction works related to the maintenance of historic buildings in Kujawsko-Pomorskie. The grants will enable the implementation of over 240 projects across the region.

“Restored monuments are the result of our joint efforts,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “Special recognition is due to the owners and administrators who take care of them on a daily basis, protect them from deterioration, and make efforts to secure funding for their upkeep. The needs remain significant, which is why we consistently support their activities.”

The highest grant awarded this year amounted to PLN 300,000. Among the 246 selected projects are conservation and restoration works in churches—including those in small towns—as well as in palace and park complexes, tenement houses, and historic institutional buildings.

The grants, funded by European Union resources under the regional program European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie and the regional budget, will support, among others:

  • conservation of the side altar of St. Joseph in Bydgoszcz Cathedral
  • replacement of flooring in the main nave, chapels, and rooms beneath the choir in the 19th-century Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Łążyn (Toruń County)
  • conservation renovation of the roofs of St. Nicholas the Bishop Church in Kowalewo Pomorskie (Golub-Dobrzyń County)
  • conservation of the gallery in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wenecja (Żnin County)
  • conservation works in St. Barbara’s Chapel in Toruń
  • roof renovation of St. John the Baptist Church in Sadłowo (Rypin County)
  • restoration of the manor house in Steklin (Toruń County)
