Bronze medal for Pia Skrzyszowska at the World Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 2026

The final day of the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 2026 concluded with an outstanding performance by Poland’s hurdler Pia Skrzyszowska, who won the bronze medal and set a new Polish national record. With four medals in total, Poland finished ninth in the medal table and third in the points classification. Detailed results are available on the World Athletics website.

Skrzyszowska impressed in the semifinals with a time of 7.76 seconds. In the final, she ran even faster—7.73 seconds—breaking the Polish record. She narrowly lost to Dutch athlete Nadine Visser, while the gold medal went to Devynne Charlton, who equaled the world record with a time of 7.65 seconds.

Poland’s mixed relay team—Natalia Bukowiecka, Anna Gryc, Anastazja Kuś, and Justyna Święty-Ersetic—held third place for most of the race, but were overtaken by Spain just before the finish line.

Polish combined-events athletes Adrianna Sułek-Schubert and Paulina Ligarska finished fourth and sixth, respectively. Klaudia Kazimierska placed sixth in the 1500 meters.

Poland’s medal tally at HMŚ Kujawy Pomorze 26:

  • Gold: Jakub Szymański – 60 meters hurdles
  • Silver: Natalia Bukowiecka – 400 meters
  • Bronze: mixed relay team (Kajetan Duszyński, Anna Gryc, Marcin Karolewski, Justyna Święty-Ersetic)
  • Bronze: Pia Skrzyszowska – 60 meters hurdles

The afternoon session was preceded by a medal ceremony, with the highest honors presented by Piotr Całbecki and Aneta Jędrzejewska.
