4 days to go until the World Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26!

We spent the final weekend before the World Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26 in Piotrków Kujawski (Radziejów County), Bydgoszcz and Osie (Świecie County). Our relay has already visited 46 towns, sports clubs, schools and local communities, showcasing the diversity of sport across the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region. Today (16 March), we meet for a general fitness training session in Białe Błota (Bydgoszcz County).

Thank you to all residents, athletes, coaches, schools, clubs and local communities for actively participating in our relay. Every meeting, every symbolic handover of the baton and every form of activity contributes to a shared story about a responsible, active region that consciously cares about the health of its residents. It is thanks to your engagement that sport in our region demonstrates its strength and diversity,” emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “I already invite everyone to join us in cheering—both at the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Arena Toruń and in the fan zone at Toruń’s Nowomiejski Market Square. Together, we are creating these championships!”

The 50 Relays of Kujawy and Pomorze is a series of events held over the fifty days leading up to the World Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26. Each meeting has been an opportunity for shared activity, integration and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The initiative has involved athletes from local clubs as well as amateurs, children and young people, entire families and seniors. The relay baton, symbolically passed between 50 municipalities, will cover a total distance of 6,100 kilometres. Photos from all stops—featuring a total of 5,000 participants—will be displayed on the opening day of the championships (20 March) along Królowa Jadwiga Street (from Empik to the fan zone).

Final relay stops:

  • 16 March – general fitness training in Białe Błota (Bydgoszcz County)
  • 17 March – family tournament in Trzebcz Szlachecki (Chełmno County)
  • 18 March – speedway training in Grudziądz
  • 19 March – run in Radziejów

The initiative will culminate in a championship parade in Toruń (20 March, 3:30 PM), featuring a march of children and sports club members (starting at Nowomiejski Market Square and finishing at the Old Town Market Square). At 4:00 PM, an opening concert will take place. Performing on stage will be Dawid Kwiatkowski, Ray Wilson and Gromee. Admission is free.
